Imminent Silence of the Sirens

So, this may be a little complicated, but long story short, I sort of ‘lost’ my photographer due to my boyfriend… erm… yeah… it’s a little bit of a strange situation. Anyway, long story short, he’s been wanting to get into photography for a little bit so I suggested a shoot today, he hardly knew what he was doing, but it was pretty much a baptism of fire – long flowing skirt, lots of wind and a cliff over the water. Honestly, I think he did really well for the conditions I put him in.

Anyway, we took about 1000 shots but only 50 or so came out non-blurry, as I said; it was a REALLY windy day.

It was a little hard to look at this piece and not think of sirens, my boyfriend suggested the title “song of the Siren”, I liked it but I thought it was a little clichéd, after a little research I came across this quote from Silence of the Sirens by Franz Kafka:

" Now the Sirens have a still more fatal weapon than their song, namely their silence. And though admittedly such a thing never happened, it is still conceivable that someone might possibly have escaped from their singing; but from their silence certainly never."

I guess you could say it sort of inspired the title.
